Highlights & Activities.
Twice-daily game drives in Westgate and Samburu trace riverbanks and acacia scrub for elephant, big cats and rich birdlife. Guided walks with Samburu trackers reveal tracks and plants; ride camels along dry riverbeds or buzz out on guided ATVs. Unwind at SpaSaab (treatments, gym and pool), the central infinity pool and pizza-oven lunches. Enjoy bush breakfasts, lantern-lit bush dinners, private deck dining and classic sundowner viewpoints. Families are welcome: a dedicated family suite, included laundry, in-room Wi-Fi and Gym-in-a-Bag kits make travel easy; optional fly-camp sleepouts deepen adventure. Stargazing under truly dark skies.
Region information.
Westgate Community Conservancy borders the Ewaso Nyiro River, west of Kenya’s Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves in the Northern Frontier District. This community-run landscape blends arid hills, riverine woodland and open plains with low vehicle density and meaningful cultural links. Guests can game drive in both Westgate and Samburu/Buffalo Springs, with walking permitted in the conservancy. Twice-daily scheduled flights serve the area; Sasaab has its own airstrip. Expect hot days, cooling seasonal rains, wide horizons and star-filled nights.
