Region information.

Lower Zambezi National Park lines Zambia’s northern bank of the Zambezi opposite UNESCO-listed Mana Pools, with river channels, floodplains and wooded escarpment attracting dense elephant and buffalo, plentiful hippo and excellent leopard sightings. The park uniquely blends land-and-water safaris: day and night game drives, guided walks, boat cruises and canoe trips; seasonal catch-and-release tiger fishing adds variety. Birding exceeds 400 species. Most travelers fly to Jeki (Apr–Nov) or Royal (year-round), continuing by short game-drive or boat to riverside camps. Dry months concentrate wildlife; emerald season brings lush scenery and river-focused activities.
