Mix day and night game drives with guided walking safaris led by expert guides. Take to the water on canoeing safaris and relaxed boat cruises; try catch-and-release tiger fishing in season. Spend quiet time in the wildlife hide by the waterhole for low-angle photography. Back at camp, enjoy the pool, lounge, bar and campfire; private tent-side dining, bush breakfasts and sundowners are readily arranged. Optional Time + Tide Sleepout under mosquito netting adds adventure. Wi-Fi in rooms, daily laundry and a 20-minute Royal Airstrip transfer keep logistics smooth. Birding is superb, with late-season carmine bee-eaters.

Region information.

Lower Zambezi National Park (≈4,092 km²) is framed by the Zambezi River and the Zambezi Escarpment, with channels, winterthorn forests and open pans supporting around 60 mammal and 378 bird species. Expect relaxed elephant herds, pods of hippo, abundant predators and endangered wild dog. This is a multi-activity destination: game drives by day and night, guided walking, canoeing, boating and excellent catch-and-release tiger fishing. Chongwe sits at the Chongwe–Zambezi confluence, about 20 minutes from Royal Airstrip; Jeki is also used. Dry months concentrate wildlife; green season brings lush scenes and dramatic skies.
