Between outings, enjoy the valley outlook, private dinners and stargazing under very dark skies. Ethical night drives, where permitted, reveal porcupine and other Nocturnals, plus memorable sundowner stops.
Region information.
Desert Rhino Camp lies in the Palmwag Concession, a remote part of Damaraland, where rocky plains, basalt ridges and dry riverbeds support desert adapted megafauna. This is one of the last strongholds of free roaming black rhino, protected through a pioneering partnership with Save the Rhino Trust and neighbouring communities. As a private concession, activities include guided walking, day and night nature drives and specialist rhino tracking, which are not available in many parks. Access is by light aircraft to a nearby airstrip, followed by a scenic road transfer to camp.
