Transportation
-
Airport Transfers
Airport transfers take place at journey arrival and departure locations, e.g., Cape Town, Nairobi, Lusaka, Arusha, Maun. Driver’s part of our partner groups are ready to welcome you and escort you away in air-conditioned vehicles to your layover, or directly onto connecting flight transfers. In airport meet and greet options are available at certain entry points for fast tracking.
-
Safari Flight Transfers
NOMARA covers intercity and country flights, with most of your internal flights taking place as Safari flight transfers. These take place in smaller aircraft, e.g., Cessna Caravans, DeHavilland Dash 8s, and Pilatus PC-12s. Most flights are direct, some include stops, leveraging safari circuit airstrips, ranging from 30-120 mins. These flights provide a unique perspective of the African landscapes.
-
Helicopter Transfers
Helicopter transfers are preferred at certain locations given their remoteness. Flight times are between 10 and 30 mins. Helicopter transfers are more common in Zambia, Botswana, and exclusive Indian ocean islands. Helicopter experiences are available at several of our partner camps which deliver an incredible view of the vast African plains, terrain, and wildlife up close.
Game Drive Transfers.
Once you land at an airstrip, you are warmly greeted by your camp or lodge hosts and whisked away on your next adventure, journeying to your location on a game drive transfer. These can be from 10 mins to 2 hours, enthralling you all along the way as you encounter wildlife on the go. Up to you to make it fast to get to your camp, or take it slowly, either way, your safari has begun!
Boat Transfers.
Depending on the time of the year, boat transfers may be required across rivers or delta waterways. This is more common in the water ways of the Okavango Delta. This is often an enthralling experience as you are immediately immersed in wildlife encounters as you take your journey to your sanctuary for the coming days.
