NOMARA

terms and conditions

Effective update date: 10.14.2025

These Terms explain how NOMARA helps deliver you a personalised, seamless travel experience across the most remote wilderness destinations in Africa, and what everyone can expect from each other. By paying a deposit, or full payment for late bookings, you accept these Terms. They become effective for your booking on the date we receive your payment.

1. Who we are & how we operate

NOMARA is the trading name of Nomad African Travel s.r.o. (IČO 191 03 913), Granitova 1115/2, Prague, Czech Republic. We craft and coordinate customized journeys for solo travellers, couples, families and groups, including multigenerational families, groups of friends and corporate incentive travel, built around your interests and dreams. We arrange and manage services with our trusted partners, and each service is delivered under the partner’s own terms and operating standards. NOMARA remains your single point of contact before, during and after travel. We operate globally and predominantly serve clients from the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.

Our directors are South African, based in the Czech Republic (Europe) and in South Africa, combining EU-level consumer protection with localised African knowledge. Our staff are placed globally.

2. What you can expect from us

  • Thoughtful advice, honest availability and pricing, and tailored itineraries that fit your style.

  • Skilled coordination with trusted tried and tested partners across Africa.

  • Clear communication of supplier terms (payment, changes, cancellation, age/activity rules).

  • Clear communication and support before and during travel. If something needs attention, we are here to help.

3. Quotes, options & confirmation

  • Quotes set out what is included and excluded, currency, and any option dates.

  • We usually place a provisional hold on selected services for up to 14 days; the actual hold length varies by season and how close you are to travel.

  • Your booking is confirmed when we receive the deposit. From that point, NOMARA coordinates and secures all services in line with your confirmed itinerary. By paying the deposit (or full payment for late bookings), you accept these Terms, which then apply to your booking.

4. Prices, currencies & fees

We operate commercially in USD. We can invoice in USD, EUR, GBP, CHF, AUD, or CAD. Other currencies can be arranged after discussion. Bank exchange rates and any third party or payment-processor fees may apply. Government taxes, park and conservancy fees, fuel surcharges and levies are set by authorities and suppliers and can change; we will pass through any increases or decreases.

5. Deposits, balances & late bookings

  • Deposit to confirm: 30% of the total trip value. During peak periods or with specific services, a 50% deposit may be required.

  • Deposit refundability: non-refundable once paid.

  • Balance due: 70 days before arrival. If a service requires an earlier balance, we will schedule your invoice to meet that earlier deadline.

  • Late bookings: within 60 days of arrival, 100% payment is due on confirmation.

  • Payment methods: card via Stripe or Wise, and bank transfer via Wise. Any bank or processor charges are for your account.

6) Cancellations and changes by you

  • From confirmation: loss of the 30% deposit.

  • 90 to 61 days before arrival: 50% of the total trip cost.

  • 60 days or fewer before arrival, including no-show: 100% of the total trip cost.

  • Flights, permits and certain fees may be non-refundable once issued, regardless of the timeline.

  • Reductions in rooms, guests or nights after confirmation may be treated as a partial cancellation.

  • Refunds are processed in the original payment currency, net of non-recoverable third-party charges.

7. Changes and cancellations by suppliers

Africa is unpredictable at times. Weather, wildlife movements, operational or safety considerations may require tweaks. If a supplier changes or cancels a service, we will work with them to secure an equal or better alternative as close as possible to your plans, or arrange a suitable solution per the supplier’s policy. We will always keep you informed and get you covered.

8. Third-party services & partner terms

NOMARA works with outstanding guides, lodges, pilots and transport providers, but we do not directly operate every service. Each partner operates under their own terms and conditions.

9. Travel insurance

All guests must hold comprehensive travel insurance, including medical expenses, medical evacuation and repatriation, trip cancellation or curtailment, baggage and personal liability. We require confirmation of cover, including policy number and emergency contact, before travel. Some local evacuation schemes exist, but they do not replace your own policy.

10. Health, passports & visas; activity eligibility

You are responsible for meeting passport, visa and health or vaccination requirements for all countries on your itinerary, including rules for minors. Activity participation is subject to age, weight or height, health and safety restrictions set by each supplier. Some camps require a private vehicle for families with younger children.

11. Safety, risks & responsibility

Travel in Africa often involves remote areas, wildlife, light aircraft, boats and outdoor activities. While we work with experienced guides and trusted partners, these environments can carry inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated.

  • Assumption of risk. By booking, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of travel and nature‑based activities, including (without limitation) hazards associated with wildlife, outdoor terrain, weather and environmental conditions, water activities, light aircraft/airstrips, road travel on variable surfaces, remote medical access and limited infrastructure.

  • Your health and fitness. You are responsible for ensuring you are fit to travel and for disclosing relevant medical or mobility information in good time. You agree to follow all safety briefings and instructions. Operators may, at their reasonable discretion, refuse participation where safety could be compromised. Non‑participation in such cases is not refundable where the service was available to operate safely.

  • Safety conduct. You agree to use seatbelts and provided safety equipment (for example lifejackets, helmets and flotation devices), not to approach or feed wildlife, to remain within designated areas and vehicles except when invited by your guide, and to comply with park rules and local laws.

  • Remote medical care and evacuation. Facilities and response times can be limited. You authorise reasonable decisions about emergency medical treatment and evacuation if you cannot do so, and you agree to reimburse related costs subject to your insurance claim. Comprehensive travel insurance with medical evacuation and repatriation is mandatory (see section 9).

  • Responsibility and limits. NOMARA acts as an agent (see section 1). To the maximum extent permitted by law, NOMARA is not responsible for loss, injury, damage or inconvenience arising from the acts or omissions of independent suppliers or from the inherent risks described above, except where caused by NOMARA’s own gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

  • Minors. A parent or legal guardian travelling with minors accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for supervising compliance with safety instructions.

12. Feedback, assistance and complaints

We aim for every journey to exceed expectations. If something does not feel right during your trip, please tell the local supplier or guide and NOMARA immediately so we can address it on the spot. If an issue remains unresolved, email us within 28 days of return with details and any supporting evidence, and we will review promptly with the supplier.

13. Photos, stories & testimonials

With your permission, we may feature guest photos or feedback to inspire other travelers, for example on our website or social channels. We will always seek your consent before using identifiable images or quotes, and you can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect materials already produced.

14. Liability & our insurance

As agents, our duty is to exercise reasonable skill and care in arranging your journey. Delivery of each travel service is the responsibility of the relevant supplier under their terms. We maintain liability insurance appropriate to our activities. We are not liable for losses arising from your breach, for example failing to meet health or visa rules, or for events beyond reasonable control.

15. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, for example natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, war, government action, utility failures or airspace closures. We will support you and liaise with suppliers on your options.

16. Data protection

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and share necessary data with suppliers to deliver your services.

17. Governing law & disputes

Czech law governs these Terms. You may bring proceedings in the Czech courts or, where mandatory consumer rules allow, in your place of residence. You may also use the EU ODR platform for online dispute resolution. We operate globally and serve clients from the United States, Europe, South America and Asia. The choice of Czech law does not reduce any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your home country. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
