Highlights & Activities.
Morning and afternoon game drives explore Mana’s inland woodlands and open vleis, with flexible pauses at wildlife-rich pans. Guided walking safaris with armed guides highlight tracks, birds and botany. Settle into the upper-deck lounge or splash pool and enjoy the celebrated Armchair Safari as elephants, kudu and predators visit the water. A seasonal photographic hide offers low-angle shots; birding is superb in the dry months. Evenings bring stargazing, spotlighting at the pan and campfire stories. Bush breakfasts, alfresco dinners and private deck dining keep the pace relaxed between outings, with drinks at sunset.
Region information.
Mana Pools National Park (≈2,196 km²), part of the UNESCO-listed Mana Pools–Sapi–Chewore system, protects Zambezi floodplains, riverine forests and inland pans. It is renowned for on-foot encounters and exceptional dry-season concentrations of elephants, buffalo and predators along pools and the river. As a national park, activities are regulated: no off-road driving, with guided walking a hallmark; canoeing is available on the Zambezi. Kanga’s inland setting offers a contrasting, crowd-free experience focused on the life-giving Kanga Pan. Access is via fixed-wing flights to Dandawa Airstrip, then a 30-minute game-drive transfer.
