Little Chem Chem sits within the Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA) between Tarangire and Lake Manyara, with views to Lake Burunge. Six vintage-style tents, including a two-bedroom family tent, blend classic canvas with modern comforts. Every booking includes a private guide and game vehicle, enabling Slow Safari days shaped by you. Expect big-tusker encounters, abundant plains game and rich birdlife, with night drives and guided walks in the WMA, plus day trips into Tarangire and Lake Manyara.

Your stay includes a private guide and open 4×4 game vehicle, so days run to your rhythm: day and night drives in the WMA; unhurried drives into Tarangire by day; and guided walking with Maasai trackers, plus silent walks and sunrise runs. Spend time in low-level photography hides at wildlife-rich waterholes, and toast sunset on the Sangaiwe Plains. Picnic breakfasts, bush lunches and lantern-lit dinners are signatures; pool time and in-tent gym-in-a-basket help you unwind. Optional extras include hot-air ballooning over Tarangire and scenic helicopter flights; fun children’s activities keep young explorers engaged.

Little Chem Chem lies in the Burunge Wildlife Management Area, a 20,000-hectare exclusive-use landscape linking Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara, and safeguarding the Kwakuchinja Corridor. Acacia woodland, palm-flecked plains and lakeshore habitats support elephants (including big tuskers), buffalo, zebra, giraffe and prolific birdlife; tree-climbing lions are a local highlight. The WMA allows guided walking and spot-lit night drives; national-park regulations apply when day-tripping into Tarangire or Manyara. Access is via Chem Chem Airstrip (≈40 minutes by road) or by road from Arusha or Kilimanjaro airports; seasonal rains shape movements.
