Highlights & Activities.
Twice daily game drives and full day expeditions keep you with the herds, with flexible start times to suit light and movement. Guides position for river crossings in season and carry picnic breakfasts or lunches for long sightings. Add hot air ballooning, walking safaris in the north by pre-booking, and cultural visits where allowed. Back at camp, enjoy sundowners, fireside canapés, and relaxed alfresco dinners, or a private table on your veranda. Expect rich birding, big cats on the plains, star filled nights, and private vehicles on request for complete flexibility.
Region information.
The Serengeti covers about 14,750 square kilometers of grassland, acacia woodland, and granite kopjes, world-famous for the Great Migration. Calving peaks on the southern plains from December to March, herds shift through central and western areas in April and May, then gather near the Mara River from July to October before looping back with the short rains. Predators are abundant and birding strong. Park rules limit night and off-road activities, preserving a natural rhythm, while ballooning runs at sunrise in set areas. River crossings are seasonal and never guaranteed, yet unforgettable when they unfold.
