Perched high above Lake Kariba on a private wildlife conservancy, Bumi Hills Safari Lodge pairs cinematic views with varied land-and-water safaris. Region information.
Bumi Hills overlooks Lake Kariba, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes, with game-rich shorelines and wide island-dotted views. The lodge sits on the Bumi Hills private conservancy, where activities include day and night drives, walking safaris, boating and fishing. Nearby Matusadona National Park, managed by African Parks, covers roughly 1,400 km² along Kariba’s southern shores and protects elephants, buffalo, lion and lakeshore species like hippo and waterbuck. In the park, activities follow set regulations, while the conservancy allows added flexibility. Access is typically via light aircraft to Bumi Hills Airstrip with a short game-drive transfer.
