Highlights & Activities.

Morning and afternoon game drives trace the Zambezi floodplains for elephant, buffalo, big cats and plains game. Guided walking safaris with armed guides deepen bushcraft; canoeing excursions follow quiet channels, and catch-and-release shore fishing targets tigerfish when in season. Seasonal birding excels. Between outings, cool off in the splash pool, enjoy the fire circle and full bar, and embrace a low-footprint safari rhythm. Picnic breakfasts and lunches, alfresco dinners, sundowners and stargazing keep things unhurried. Battery charging is available in the main area; children 12+ are welcome, with walking and canoeing for ages 16+.

Region information.

Mana Pools National Park (≈2,200 km²), part of the UNESCO-listed Mana Pools–Sapi–Chewore landscape, protects Zambezi floodplains, inland pans and riverine forests with prolific elephant, buffalo, hippo, predators and rich birdlife. Canoeing the Zambezi and guided walking are hallmarks, while park rules prohibit off-road and night driving to safeguard habitats. Zambezi Expeditions sits on open floodplains near the river; season runs April–November, with access via flights to Mana Main Airstrip and a ~40-minute game-drive transfer. Dry months concentrate wildlife along water; first rains bring green foliage and atmospheric skies.
