South Luangwa National Park spans about 9,050 km², a wild valley nicknamed the Valley of the Leopard for prolific predator action. The Luangwa River and oxbow lagoons support around 60 mammal and 450 bird species. This is the birthplace of the walking safari; guided walks and guided night drives complement daytime game viewing.
