Day 1 - 4 - Kulala Desert Lodge, Sossusvlei, Namibia

Brick and canvas tents under thatch open to a veranda with dune views. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with indoor shower, double basin vanity and flush toilet, plus easy chairs, writing desk, luggage rack, electronic safe, ceiling and pedestal fans, tea and coffee and complimentary in tent Wi Fi. Behind the tent, stairs lead to a private rooftop sleepout platform for stargazing when conditions allow. Hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided in winter.

Kulala Desert Lodge sits on the 27,000 hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve bordering the Namib Naukluft National Park, with the closest access to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei via the private Kulala gate. The main area combines indoor and outdoor dining and a bar, a rooftop for panoramic views, a pool with shaded loungers, a reading nook and main area Wi Fi. Optional hot air ballooning lifts off from the private reserve at sunrise.

Each suite features a king or twin-size bed draped in mosquito netting, a sunken lounge with armchairs and a writing desk, and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, double basins, and locally inspired décor. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto a wrap‑around veranda with a hammock and shaded bench, ideal for private dining or simply soaking in the stunning river and desert views.
