What is a mobile safari?

A small, seasonal tented camp that relocates to shadow wildlife movements such as the Great Migration. You sleep under canvas with proper beds and en suite facilities, close to the action and far from crowds.

Where do mobile safaris work best?

The Serengeti–Masai Mara ecosystem. Sample pairings include Serian’s Serengeti South or Nkorombo, Wilderness Usawa Serengeti, Legendary’s Songa or Nyasi Migrational Camps, and Asilia’s Olakira or Ubuntu Migration Camps.

When is the best time to go?

December to March for calving in the south around Ndutu, May to June through the Western Corridor, and July to October in the north for the Mara River crossings. We time your route to these phases.

How comfortable is it?

Expect en suite tents with hot showers, quality beds and attentive service. It feels adventurous yet comfortable, with lantern lit dinners and small guest numbers.

How do logistics work?

Light aircraft links minimise driving and bags should be soft sided. We arrange private vehicles on request and plan camp-to-camp hops so you maximise time in the field.
