Bespoke Luxury Journeys through Botswana

“Every journey we design is completely Tailor-Made. Drawing on 15+ years of trusted relationships across Africa, we create private experiences, hand-select extraordinary lodges, and design journeys that unfold entirely around you.”

Your Botswana trip is planned from first-hand experience — every detail carefully curated by experts who know it well.

Why Botswana »

Botswana is Africa at its wildest. From the shimmering Okavango Delta to the predator-rich Linyanti and wildlife-packed Chobe floodplains. Here, elephants roam in great herds, wild dogs hunt across open plains, and luxury camps offer front-row seats to a land where nature still reigns supreme. And because Botswana committed to low-volume, high-quality tourism decades ago, you share almost none of it with anyone else.

From the waterways of the Okavango at Mombo or Vumbura Plains, to the Linyanti’s elephant corridors near DumaTau, and across the bird-rich Mababe Marsh, each stop reveals a new face of Botswana. A journey in landscapes, wildlife, and extraordinary lodge hospitality.

When to Visit Botswana

Botswana is a seasonal destination — the best time to visit depends on what you want from your safari. Here's how the year breaks down.

Dry Season

May – October

Best for Safaris

The prime safari season in Botswana. Water recedes, wildlife concentrates around permanent sources and the Okavango Delta's channels become ideal for mokoro trips and game walks. Chobe River draws enormous elephant herds and predator activity is high across the Linyanti and Central Kalahari. Book well in advance for the best camps.

Peak Season

July – September

Prime Wildlife

The absolute pinnacle of Botswana safari. Okavango water levels are perfect, big cat sightings are exceptional and Chobe's elephant gatherings are among the most spectacular on the continent. The Makgadikgadi salt pans are dry and open, making for extraordinary game drives. This is Botswana at its finest.

Green Season

November – April

Great Value

The Okavango floodwaters from Angola begin arriving from February, transforming the landscape. Newborn animals, exceptional birding and dramatically lower prices make this a compelling option for the seasoned traveller. Some camps close, but those that stay open offer an intimate experience with far fewer visitors.

What People Are Saying

“We returned from Africa more than a month ago, but we are already thinking about where to go next in Africa! Working with the NOMARA folks was so easy. We spoke to a few different providers. After speaking with James the first time, we knew we had found the right company to help us.

This was our first time travelling to Africa, and we have 2 teenagers, so we were not really sure what to expect. James took us through everything, and he also entertained us during the planning time with many interesting stories of his own!”

— Adam Dowd, USA

“Nomara planned and organised a trip of a lifetime for our group to Botswana. Thank you to both Craig and James, who worked tirelessly to make this trip possible.

This is one for the memory banks. We will definitely return to Africa and can't recommend the team at Nomara Africa Travel enough. Their advice and knowledge were exceptional, with all the planning made easy.”

— Shawn DeLuca, USA

“We got back just a few weeks ago from our Tanzania trip, and we are still talking about it with everyone around us! Nomara planned everything so carefully.

The Camps were beautiful. The staff were just brilliant, always one step ahead and looking after us so well. The food was delicious.

Big thanks to James and Craig at Nomara Africa Travel for making this dream trip happen. We will remember it forever!”

— Melissa Sainsbury, USA
